Actiontec GT784WNV Modem - Reset Configuration
How to reset my Actiontec GT784WNV modem to the default configuration? My Internet connection is having problems frequently. A friend tells me to reset the modem.

Resetting the Actiontec GT784WNV modem to the default configuration sometime may help to resolve Internet connection issues.
The easiest way to reset the modem is to use the Reset button on the back of the modem:
1. Using a paperclip, press in and hold the Reset button for 30 seconds.
2. After 30 seconds, release the Reset button.
3. Turn the power off to the modem.
4. Leave the power off for 20 seconds.
5. Turn the power on to the modem.
After resetting the modem, you need to enter your Internet access user name and password in the modem:
1. Connect your laptop to the modem using an Ethernet cable or Wi-Fi (the default SSID and key is on back of the modem).
2. Open a Web browser and go to "http://192.168.1.1", and login with the default user name (admin) and password (password or password1).
3. Click the "Quick Setup" tab and the "Next" button.
4. Make sure "PPPoE" is selected as the Internet connection protocol.
5. Enter the PPP user name and password, which is the same as your Internet service online account.
6. Click "Apply". You should have Internet connection on your computer now.
