How a FTP directory is displayed in a Web browser?

A FTP directory will be displayed nicely in a Web browser as a list of directory entries with:

  • An icon to indicate whether the entry is a file or a sub directory.
  • The clickable name of the file or directory. If clicked, The content of the entry will be retrieved.
  • The size of the file.
  • The date when the entry was last modified.
