What Is Swarm in BitTorrent
What Is Swarm in BitTorrent?
✍: FYIcenter.com
A Swarm in BitTorrent is a network of computers, called peers,
that communicate with each other to share (download and upload)
a single file.
For example, a warm has 8 peers: 2 of them have 100% of the file and upload data to other 6 peers; 6 of them download data from other peers and may upload data to each other.
The term Swarm is a holdover from the predecessor to BitTorrent, a program called Swarmcast, originally from OpenCola.
