What Is BitTorrent File Sharing?

BitTorrent is a communication protocol for peer-to-peer file sharing (P2P),
which enables users to distribute data and electronic files
over the Internet in a decentralized manner.
BitTorrent also refers to the network of computers that sharing files using the BitTorrent protocol. It is responsible for about 3% of the total Internet traffic.
BitTorrent was designed by programmer Bram Cohen in April 2001, and released the first available version on 2 July 2001.
