You can follow this tutorial to insert a mathematical formula OpenOffice Document, Impress, Draw or Spreadsheet.

1. Open OpenOffice Document, Impress, Draw or Spreadsheet.

2. Click "Insert > Object > Formula". You see the OpenOffice Math source code panel below the editing panel.

3. Enter the source code for the mathematical formula. Or copy and pasted it from another OpenOffice Math file. For example:

4. Click the editing panel. You see the correspoding formula displayed.
